EWC SG3 filler rod with high Si and Mn content is designed for argon-arc welding of products made of structural unalloyed and low-alloyed steels. Recommended for welding boiler equipment, high-pressure vessels, and assembly work. The increased Mn and Si content gives the deposited metal higher strength, and also reduces the tendency to form pores when welding along contaminated edges. In addition, the increased silicon content gives the molten metal of the bath greater fluidity, due to which the surface of the weld is formed smoother with a smooth transition from the base metal to the weld.
